Vacation Upgrades: Worth the Splurge or Not?

Are you planning your dream vacation but feeling overwhelmed by all the options and expenses? You're not alone! Planning a vacation can be daunting, especially when you're trying to balance your budget with your desire for a memorable and enjoyable experience.

But don't worry; we're here to help! In this blog post, we'll share tips on which vacation upgrades and expenses are worth the extra cost and which ones you can skip without missing out on the fun. We've got you covered, from Priority Pass Memberships to upgraded hotel rooms, private transportation, and travel insurance. So sit back, relax, and plan your dream vacation without breaking the bank!

Priority Pass Membership -Pay

Traveling long distances can be exhausting, especially in a crowded airport with tired and grumpy strangers. But what if you could escape the chaos and enjoy your downtime in a private airport lounge? With the worldwide Priority Pass Membership, you can do just that! No matter where you travel, this pass gives you access to a comfortable space with plenty of snacks and relaxation. Say goodbye to the airport zone and hello to vacation mode!

An Upgraded Room - Pay

Your hotel room can make or break your vacation experience. There's nothing worse than feeling cramped and surrounded by noise when you're supposed to be relaxing. And let's remember the disappointment of looking out your window to see a view of the parking lot. Upgrading your room might cost a little extra, but it's worth it for a better vacation experience. Imagine waking up to the sound of calming ocean waves and enjoying breakfast on your balcony with a breathtaking view. It's the perfect way to start your day and maximize your vacation.

Rental car upgrades - Pass

When renting a car for your vacation, upgrading to a fancier model or extra features is tempting. But unless you're traveling with a large group and need the extra space, it's not necessary. A standard sedan will get you where you need to go just fine. Plus, with GPS, music apps, and Bluetooth on our phones, you don't need to pay for extra features like XM radio or a built-in GPS. Save money for more essential vacation expenses and stick with a standard rental car.

Private Transportation - Pay

Don't let transportation put a damper on your vacation! Being herded on and off a shuttle bus with a group of tourists can be frustrating and make you feel like cattle. After all, you're paying for a vacation, not a cattle drive! If your budget allows, consider splurging on private transportation. You'll avoid the crowds and head straight to your destination, making your vacation experience much more enjoyable.

Travel Insurance - Pay

When planning a vacation, travel insurance might seem like an unnecessary expense. But it's worth the splurge just in case something goes wrong. You never know when you might have to cancel your trip last minute or if your luggage gets lost, and that's where travel insurance comes in handy. It can help you recoup some of your losses and provide peace of mind during stressful situations. So, even though you hope you never have to use it, paying for travel insurance is well worth the spend to ensure you have a stress-free vacation.

Souvenirs - Pass

When you go on vacation, buying souvenirs is often seen as a way to remember your trip. However, they can be pretty expensive and not worth the money. Many souvenir shops sell mass-produced items that aren't unique or memorable. If you want to save money during your trip, skipping souvenirs is easy. While buying souvenirs is ultimately up to personal preference, it's worth considering if you want to cut back on unnecessary expenses and avoid overpriced trinkets.

Airplane Seats - Pay

Upgrading your plane seat is a worthwhile expense if you want to arrive at your destination relaxed and comfortable. Say goodbye to the discomfort of being stuck in the middle seat, and hello to a more enjoyable travel experience!

TSA PreCheck & Global Entry - Pay

If you hate extended security and customs lines and the hassle of removing electronics from your bags, investing in TSA PreCheck or Global Entry is worth the money. With these memberships, you can breeze through security and customs quickly and easily. And for only around $15 or $20 per year, respectively, it's a no-brainer investment for a more stress-free travel experience.

CLEAR - Pass

While CLEAR can help you move through airport security faster, it's only available in select airports and costs $179 annually. It's worth considering if it's available at the airports you frequent, but it might be best to hold off on investing in this service for now.
